Quarters 3 and 4 Goals | 2020

It has been quite a year, hasn’t it? This post will have both quarters 3 and 4 goals. The fact that I forgot to even do any quarter 3 goals is proof of the year we’ve had. My mental health this year has been on quite a roller coaster ride, and I’ve neglected this space and social media. So today, I am hoping to write out both of those to make up for that.

Refreshing on my Quarter 2 goals, I can confidently say I didn’t accomplish many of them, due to the continuity of a worldwide pandemic and all. I did get through a couple big blogging goals though, surprisingly! While this year has had many uphill battles, I feel like it’s been an eye opener for me. It’s really shown me the state of my mental health and spurred me to actually seek help for my anxiety.

So I suppose it’s safe to say that I could use something else to focus on right now, so making some great goals is how I plan to do that. I think all of us could stand to focus our energy and attention on things that bring us joy, rather than the constant negativity that seems to be present everywhere we turn. So, let’s recap the second quarter and make some new (albeit late) goals for the remainder of the year, shall we?

Quarter 2 Goals | 2020 Recap

BLOGGING:

1. Be more proactive about recording my podcast + audio for posts.

So I launched a podcast in January (yay!), but since the Pandemic hit everything was put on the back burner. So, another of my Quarter 2 Goals is to pick that back up again. I wanna be regular with it despite the circumstances.

2. Actually sit down and write out a content plan.

For months now, I’ve had the idea in my head for a content plan. However, I’ve never gotten out of my own way to do it. So, for the next few weeks of this quarter, that’s my goal. #makeithappen

3. Show more of myself online more, as opposed to just posts.

I can’t be the only small-biz owner/entrepreneur that struggles with this! I have this tendency to hide behind my content and not share much else about me. So, my goal this quarter is to show more of myself besides just posts!

PERSONAL:

1. Practice body positivity.

I think this is something women struggle with more than anyone, thanks to the media. So, one of my Quarter 2 Goals is to practice body positivity and speak kind words about myself and my body daily. I know it’s not gonna be easy, but it’ll be worth it.

2. Work on the need to please & impress.

Recovering perfectionist over here! Anyone else relate? I always feel like everything has to be perfect, especially my house when I have company. So, my goal this quarter is to embrace the messy and not worry so much.

3. Exercise more instead of sitting around.

Ever since the Pandemic hit, I’ve just been sitting around all day. My body is starting to feel the effects of that, so my goal this quarter is to MOVE. It doesn’t have to be much, but just get up and move, or go outside.

How’d I Do?

BLOGGING:

1. Be more proactive about recording my podcast + audio for posts.

Actually yes, at first. Toward the beginning of the year, I felt so on top of this until the pandemic hit and stuff hit the fan, ha. But, I will continue to work on this for sure.

2. Actually sit down and write out a content plan.

YES! Omg I am SO HAPPY that I actually did this. For forever, I’ve been trying to figure out a system that would work for me as a small business owner/entrepreneur and nothing worked. UNTIL my friend told me about Google Calendar and she helped me get started with it. I finally now have a schedule for myself that I pretty consistently keep, and it’s just amazing. I am so productive with it!

3. Show more of myself online more, as opposed to just posts.

Not yet, but it’s a work in progress. As I work on my mental health this year, this will be something I will continue to work towards.

PERSONAL:

1. Practice body positivity.

Yes and no. Some days are better and easier than others. I guess suffice it to say this is a long term goal that I will have to continually strive to progress in.

2. Work on the need to please & impress.

This goes back to mental health, so it’s a process. I am still not great at doing this either, but it’s something I aim to make progress in everyday.

3. Exercise more instead of sitting around.

I actually did for a while, and then I lost my motivation again to do it. For about 6 weeks, I exercised and then I just….didn’t. I really need to get back into it though.

Quarter 3 & 4 Goals | 2020

BLOGGING:

1. Simply show up online.

I want to quit letting fear dictate this in my life and business, and just show up. Even if I’m not picture perfect or put together. I know this is easier said than done in the age we live in, but I want to try.

2. Quit overthinking my posts and just write my heart.

For so long, I have started overthinking every aspect of my blog and business, including my posts. Instead of just writing what’s on my heart, I get wrapped up in the details. So one of my quarters 3 & 4 goals is to quit overthinking everything and just do it.

PERSONAL:

1. Start journaling again.

I may have had this one in the past, but it’s still relevant. Years ago, I used to journal a lot but have gotten out of the habit. I think it will help me to journal and do all kinds of brain dumps so it’s not so stressful on me. So in my quarters 3 & 4 goals, I hope to do just that.

2. Do one activity a day to de-stress.

I need to be doing this anyways, but now it’s on paper and will remind me. It’s too easy for me to get stressed out, so I want to try to do one activity of self care a day that helps alleviate stress. Whether that be walking, exercising, or whatever.

While I may have forgotten to post my goals last quarter, this current list contains reasonable goals for me to work on the last few months of the year now. I look forward to slowly working on these the remainder of the year. If you’ve made any goals for yourself, I’d love to hear about them! Shoot me an email or a comment below and tell me!

Let’s get out there and conquer the last 2+ months of the year. We can absolutely do anything we set our minds to. I believe it!
